GardnerGaytan strongly believes that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity. In light of this we will advocate for training for all students and faculty to learn the culture and importance of our community members with disabilities.
First Mates
A program for first generation students to network and develop a support system with each other. This program will be geared towards easing their transition into college, by providing information about resources available to them.
Diversity In The Sea
In the fight to unite, GardnerGaytan will ensure that equality and equity are met throughout the community, starting with purple handles on gender neutral bathrooms to eliminate the bias of gender. Followed by the continuation of menstrual products being placed in bathrooms on campus for students to have access to.
Navigation Channel
We will be adding a “talking” system to the already placed countdown crosswalks as well as adding new countdown systems throughout campus to assist the student with impairments to cross the streets on their own.
Argo Wellness
GardnerGaytan recognizes the need for students to have the needed amenities to live healthy lives. This includes, insurance, free testing, meals while quarantining on campus and more. We will work towards ensuring this necessities are available for students.
